A few weeks ago, I wanted to provide an RSS feed of this blog, so that Tony Whitmore could add it to Planet HantsLUG. Although there is RSS support within Personal Weblog, it doesn’t provide pubDate elements, which apparently Planet and other feed aggregators require. So, I hacked up a quick patch to fix that. Application instructions here.
I’m pretty uneasy runnning software that hasn’t been updated for over 3 years, so I’d like to switch to something that is actively supported and written in a language that I have an interest in learning. For now, though, I’ll have to just add features and fix bugs as I come across them. I wonder how many others are in the same boat? Or have they all moved to PolarBlog?
