The launch of the new Guardian jobs website dominated my working week. It’s turned out OK, but I think the front page needs serious attention. It’s become rather confusing and long. The image count is getting frightfully high too.
Sally came up to see me on Thursday evening and we met at Finchley Road and went to the absolutely unbearably noisy Walkabout to meet some friends. Spent the first half of Good Friday in bed and then went for a walk to Hampstead and then across the heath. Sally spotted Melvyn Bragg, but I wasn’t paying attention. I also spun an amusing yarn about how I understood the language of the crows and they wanted to sit and crap on the bench we were on. Of course, Sally didn’t believe me, but as soon as we left the entire murder of crows descended on the bench, cawing loudly. She’ll think twice about mocking my ability to converse with animals again. Especially if I tell the kitten to piss on her bed.
Helping Dad with boat-moving antics on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (as is now traditional the steering on the trailer broke when the boat was blocking the road in the sailing club yard). Went out with a few people from home on Saturday. We’re trying to work out if one of our mutual friends is in the Dove Firming Curves adverts. It’s becoming tedious now - I think I’ll just text her and ask.
